Social, Cultural, Environmental and Economic Responsibility Actions
In order to improve the economic and social situation of the population around the concession area, the Project has been developing social, cultural, environmental and economic responsibility actions.
The intervention has focused on the construction of homes for family resettlement, schools to intensify literacy, the creation of cooperatives of agricultural development for family self-subsistence and trade, the installation of a drinking water collection system, allowing access to basic sanitation by the inhabitants, the construction of a medical post and the establishment of a mill, among others in progress.
In the area of promoting local content, the Project has implemented professional training sessions for employees, which have been given on job, as well as inside and outside Angolan territory, always focused on gaining knowledge and skills, besides the admission, under paid internship contracts, of recently graduated middle and upper technicians, who at the end of the internship cycles have been included in the Project's staff.
Finally, in compliance with the objectives and guidelines on employability set out in the partnership with the central and local government, the Yetwene project has entered into partnership with the universities and polytechnic institutes of the provinces of Lunda-Norte and Lunda-Sul, in order to provide professional internships for recent graduates.
